Fibulin-5 (Q9WVH9)

Uniprot ID Q9WVH9
Protein Name Fibulin-5
Gene Name Fbln5
Species Mus musculus (Mouse)
Signal peptide(a) Y Secretome P(b) 0.823
Function Essential for elastic fiber formation, is involved in the assembly of continuous elastin (ELN) polymer and promotes the interaction of microfibrils and ELN (By similarity). Stabilizes and organizes elastic fibers in the skin, lung and vasculature. Promotes adhesion of endothelial cells through interaction of integrins and the RGD motif. Vascular ligand for integrin receptors which may play a role in vascular development and remodeling (PubMed:11805835). May act as an adapter that mediates the interaction between FBN1 and ELN (By similarity). .

(a) The Signal peptide D-score cutoff for "YES"(having signal peptide) is 0.45.
(b) Non-classically secreted proteins should obtain an NN-score(Neural Networks score) exceeding the normal threshold of 0.5, but not at the same time be predicted to contain a signal peptide.
