Prolow-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (Q07954)

Uniprot ID Q07954
Protein Name Prolow-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1
Gene Name LRP1
Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Signal peptide(a) N Secretome P(b) 0.784
Function Endocytic receptor involved in endocytosis and in phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. Required for early embryonic development. Involved in cellular lipid homeostasis. Involved in the plasma clearance of chylomicron remnants and activated LRPAP1 (alpha 2-macroglobulin), as well as the local metabolism of complexes between plasminogen activators and their endogenous inhibitors. May modulate cellular events, such as APP metabolism, kinase-dependent intracellular signaling, neuronal calcium signaling as well as neurotransmission (PubMed:11907044, PubMed:12888553, PubMed:12713657). Acts as an alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor (PubMed:26142438). .(Microbial infection) Functions as a receptor for Pseudomonas aeruginosa exotoxin A. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:1618748}.

(a) The Signal peptide D-score cutoff for "YES"(having signal peptide) is 0.45.
(b) Non-classically secreted proteins should obtain an NN-score(Neural Networks score) exceeding the normal threshold of 0.5, but not at the same time be predicted to contain a signal peptide.
