Cofilin-1 (P18760)

Uniprot ID P18760
Protein Name Cofilin-1
Gene Name Cfl1
Species Mus musculus (Mouse)
Signal peptide(a) N Secretome P(b) 0.0
Function Binds to F-actin and exhibits pH-sensitive F-actin depolymerizing activity (PubMed:11809832). Regulates actin cytoskeleton dynamics. Important for normal progress through mitosis and normal cytokinesis. Plays a role in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization. Required for the up-regulation of atypical chemokine receptor ACKR2 from endosomal compartment to cell membrane, increasing its efficiency in chemokine uptake and degradation (By similarity). Required for neural tube morphogenesis and neural crest cell migration (PubMed:15649475). .

(a) The Signal peptide D-score cutoff for "YES"(having signal peptide) is 0.45.
(b) Non-classically secreted proteins should obtain an NN-score(Neural Networks score) exceeding the normal threshold of 0.5, but not at the same time be predicted to contain a signal peptide.
