Poly(rC)-binding protein 2 (Q61990)

Uniprot ID Q61990
Protein Name Poly(rC)-binding protein 2
Gene Name Pcbp2
Species Mus musculus (Mouse)
Signal peptide(a) N Secretome P(b) 0.653
Function Single-stranded nucleic acid binding protein that binds preferentially to oligo dC. Major cellular poly(rC)-binding protein. Binds also poly(rU). Negatively regulates cellular antiviral responses mediated by MAVS signaling. It acts as an adapter between MAVS and the E3 ubiquitin ligase ITCH, therefore triggering MAVS ubiquitinationa and degradation (By similarity). .

(a) The Signal peptide D-score cutoff for "YES"(having signal peptide) is 0.45.
(b) Non-classically secreted proteins should obtain an NN-score(Neural Networks score) exceeding the normal threshold of 0.5, but not at the same time be predicted to contain a signal peptide.
