Tubulin beta-2B chain (Q9BVA1)

Uniprot ID Q9BVA1
Protein Name Tubulin beta-2B chain
Gene Name TUBB2B
Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Signal peptide(a) N Secretome P(b)
Function Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules (PubMed:23001566, PubMed:28013290, PubMed:26732629). It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain (By similarity). Plays a critical role in proper axon guidance in both central and peripheral axon tracts (PubMed:23001566). Implicated in neuronal migration (PubMed:19465910). .

(a) The Signal peptide D-score cutoff for "YES"(having signal peptide) is 0.45.
(b) Non-classically secreted proteins should obtain an NN-score(Neural Networks score) exceeding the normal threshold of 0.5, but not at the same time be predicted to contain a signal peptide.
